The Times has confirmed today that Steve Smith will return to the Ashes wearing a Masuri STEMGUARD.
On page 62 of todays copy of The Times, it is reported that Steve Smith will return to playing in 4th Ashes test match following his concussion suffered during the 2nd Test match last month.
This bears particular relevance to Masuri as it means that Smith has opted to use the Masuri STEMGUARD despite choosing to wear an alternative brand of helmet (that have their own neck protector offering).
There has been an incredible increase in the awareness of neck protectors following Smith being hit by a ball delivered by Jofra Archer in the 2nd Test with many questioning whether or not the product should be made mandatory.
A topic close to our hearts, we have been calling for there to be greater governance on neck protectors as up until earlier this year, there had been no applicable safety standard to adhere to – a topic we made a short video on back in 2017.
We will continue to work with both professional and grassroots clubs to ensure we continue to set the standard of protection in cricket.
